Item by item discussion of analysis
Item 18: Static performance analysis is calculated for the present configuration as seen in
Table 12. This replaces the results on
page 13 that seem to be a carryover of obsolete data and which will be corrected. Figures 7 through 11 show the results. Most important,
Figure 7 (still preliminary) shows maximum speed of about 190 knots/218 MPH and cruise speed about 160 knots/185 MPH.
Figure 10 shows maximum lift-to-drag ratio of about 14 and
Figure 11 shows maximum rate of climb of about 1300 feet per minute. All of these seem like reasonable values.

Static stability calculations have been set up using the CG location derived from the revised weight calculations. This data is very preliminary and has not yet been carefully checked, but indicates that adequate stability should be attainable. In fact, it currently indicates such high stability that moving the wing forward should be considered.
Static Stability Calculations
Pitch trim calculations are early in the set up process and are of suspicious accuracy at the moment.
